As awesome weekends go, this was a great one. 2 Strange But Surf Shows at The Bellmore Street Fair was over the top. Without the help of Drip 2.0 and The TarantinosNYC we could not have had such a great Friday Night show. We got lots of compliments and their was an great crowd. Saturday we started off the day at 2pm with our usual Strange But Surf flair. They loved us. Really. Long Island is our home but we usually play in NYC, where they love us. The LIers are still too uptight to dance but they had a good time despite themselves. It was great to see many freinds in the audience as well. It all went smooth with a little help from my freinds & my girl, Tricia. She is something really cool going on in the M world, btw… Hauling Drums around isnt easy or something I do often. Most places I play have Drums but it was worth the effort. The effort is more of an effort these days as I get a little older. Getting sick didnt help matters either, my strength is better than ever and even through I may have trouble walking somethies, I can still play. The next show will be a very special one on October 3rd at Mr. Berrys in Bethpage. It is a tribute Show for my Best Freind of 50 Years, Eric aka Max Volume. We were founding members of the Punk Band, The Chiselers along with the famous Ajax Lepinski of the Nihilistics. It will be a very emotional night as Strange But Surf will become The Chiselers as me, Marbles Mahoney, Ajax Lepinski & Phil DeGraves, the surviving members bang out those hits live, one more time. He made it all happen for us and the entire NYC Punk Rock scene and we will make it happen in his memory & Carry On… MM
